OUT OF THE BLUE BIG BAND

We are Out Of The Blue, an 18-piece Jazz Big Band with a great female vocalist and are based in Birmingham, UK. Under the musical directorship of Jo James, our repertoire is drawn from the classic swing and Big Band arrangements of the Basie and Ellington era as well as latin, blues, soul, pop and even rock n’roll. We play a mix of music that crosses all genres and ages - there is something for everybody to enjoy!

What an unbelievable gig back at Thimblemill Library (our favourite indoor venue). A huge and lively audience were treated to two fantastic sets by the band and our amazing vocalist, Jan Harris.

Back by public demand at Solihull Methodist Church, a welcoming venue with great acoustics. Raising money for a very worthwhile charity 'Camp Joy'. A large and appreciative audience appeared to really enjoy our two sets with a very Xmas flavour.

Great acoustics as we played two sets on the bandstand at Lightwoods Park with the Bearwood Festival in full swing. Shame it started to rain during the first set but brightened up later. Typical British weather as it rained when we were playing ‘Blue Skies’ and ‘Summertime’! Perhaps we should have been playing ‘Stormy Weather’?

It was great to be back at Himley Hall & Park (our favourite outdoor venue). As the dark clouds lifted (coinciding with us playing 'Blue Skies') and the sun appeared the audience were treated to the sounds of OOTB and our great vocalist, Jan Harris.
